Last week visited the Faculty of AgriSciences of Mendel University in Brno the Vice-President of Hue University from Vietnam, Mrs. Do Thi Xuan Dung. Mrs. Vice-President, who arrived as part of the OPVVV project – Competitive Graduate came on invitation of Professor Milada Šťastná, head of the Institute of Applied and Landscape Ecology. Introduced the students and academics in her lectures to the innovations of agriculture and landscape design in Vietnam, as well as to the ecological-social project for the restoration of degraded coastal areas. Her lectures aroused high interest in other faculties of the university.
“We are very pleased that we were able to get to our university such an important representative of a high quality Vietnamese university, with which we have been jointly creating a master’s study program in agroecology harmonized with our accredited programme for the last fourth year,” praised Professor Šťastná.
The working week of the vice-president was fully packed, in addition to working meetings with the representatives of the Faculty of Business and Economics, Faculty of Frorestry and Wood Technology and Faculty of Horticulture, during her stay she visited, among other things, the annual “Field Day” at the Field Experiment Station in Žabčice, the grounds of the Faculty of Horticulture and spent a while in the Křtiny Arboretum. Mrs. Do Thi Xuan Dung was very satisfied with the result of the visit: “Mendel University in Brno is our strategic partner in Europe and I hope that we will be able to start cooperation on a number of other projects.”
