Applied Research Outputs

Applied Research Outputs are formed in the fields of faculty research profile. Faculty research activities involve basic research activities as well as applied research cooperation and project activities, including contract research.

As for basic research, the Faculty of AgriScienses published more than 2,200 scientific articles in impact factor journals in the last 10 years, with almost 1,500 of them in Q1 and Q2 quartiles. The published results were mainly in the fields of biochemistry, analytical chemistry, climatology, food science, botany and zoology, plant production and animal breeding.

It is widely acknowledged that the most valuable outcomes of applied research are often embodied in internationally recognised patents. During the 10-year period, the faculty obtained a total of 5 international patents, including 2 European patents, one US patent, and one patent each from Russia and Belarus. In addition, it has obtained 10 national patents of the Czech Republic. With regard to the research profile, eight patents are attributable to the natural sciences (analytical chemistry, plant sciences and virology and veterinary); the remaining 12 are concentrated in engineering and technology (applied mechanics, automation and environmental engineering).

The Faculty has traditionally been very active in contract research projects, with more than 70 contract research projects each year for the last 5 years.
